Tooth and Gum Sensitivity

Dentin hypersensitivity or tooth sensitivity is a common dental problem. It is a condition that can develop over time as a result of common problems such as gum recession and tooth enamel erosion. Tooth sensitivity is most common between the ages of 20 and 50. Tooth sensitivity can begin when the softer interior of the tooth, the “dentin,” is exposed. Dentin is found under the enamel and gums. Thousands of microscopic channels run through the dentin towards the center of the tooth. When dentin is exposed, external triggers (such as a cold drink) can stimulate sensitive areas of the tooth, causing temporary tooth discomfort. Regular consumption of acidic foods or beverages erodes the enamel of the teeth and causes sensitivity in the teeth. In order not to complain about this situation, it is necessary to consume acidic foods in a limited number. Teeth and gum structures differ between individuals.
